Children treated in childhood for a variety of cancers have a statistically significant increased risk of pulmonary complications later in life, including pulmonary fibrosis, according to a recent study . Risk factors for later development of fibrosis included chest wall radiation and a variety of chemotherapeutic agents.

Thanks for the link to the study. I am a childhood cancer survivor and I now suffer with a restrictive lung disease.

me too. i had a bone marrow transplant when i was 12 and i just found out that i have bronchiolitis obliterans, a restrictive airway disease. it is miserable and i really would like to know when they found this link between the two.

I too have bronchiolitis obliterans, since 2003. I had a BMT in 1998.
What kind of treatment have you had for it? I am on Advair 500/50.
